“All in all, it was an incredible experience, very enriching and fulfilling. I would like to thank my sponsor for giving me the chance, because otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to afford it.”
Thanks to the support of the Society of Friends of the Salzburg International Summer Academy of Fine Arts, many talented artists and students from all over the world are able to attend the Summer Academy.
The non-profit Society of Friends was founded in 2001 in order to promote the activities on the Summer Academy – in particular to fund. Every year, a panel of experts examines hundreds of applications and decides on the awards to indigent and to talented students. These awards ensure the continuing high quality and internationality of the Summer Academy.
"Friends" have the exclusive opportunity of purchasing prints from the limited editions produced each year by one of the teaching artists – in recent years by Norbert Bisky, Olga Chernysheva, Peter Friedl, Melissa Gordon, Bernhard Martin, Imran Qureshi or Olav Westphalen. The profits go entirely towards funding grants.
You can find an overview of all print editions in our online shop.
Through your membership, you can give talented students the chance to take part in one of the Summer Academy courses:
