Hannes Eichmann

Hannes Eichmannhas worked as cultural journalist with ORF, Austrian public Radio, for 35 years. Additionally he was responsible for planning and supervising broadcasts from the various Salzburg music festivals (Mozart Week, Salzburg Festival) since 2009.

With Sir Roger Norrington and the Camerata Salzburg Eichmann went on tour as “narrator” in Switzerland, Germany, Norway and the USA.

Born in Linz, Hannes Eichmann studied Musicology and Pedagogy in Salzburg and Vienna. Still a student he tought a course in musicology at a Duke University junior year abroad program in Vienna. In addition to his journalistic work Eichmann lectured for over 20 years at Salzburg University. The “Friends of the Salzburg Festival” have known him for 30 years for his lectures and interviews with various Festival artists.
