This was a collective exercise. The class was divided into groups of 4 participants, each of whom gathered footage to be uploaded and collectively used by all. They were then encouraged to film given a set of aesthetic constraints, in the cities or towns that they are in.

‘Found footage’ was explored here as an element that allowed for shifts in meaning, for archival impetuses and truth claims.

Processing our days
The video workshop revisited methods of video-making and distribution that we already use in our daily lives: Facebook and Instagram stories, YouTube videos, GIFS and others. Participants looked at the ways in which these forms are used, from the personal diary to the political and satirical. Also, how we as artists can appropriate and use these popular forms of production and dissemination to create fiction, documentary, narratives and poetry which exist in the real world, outside the limits of the art world and the gallery system.
