Founded by Séamus Kealy, Sunset Kino is Austria’s only outdoor avant-garde film screening programme. Each Wednesday between 24 July and 21 August, curated screenings commence after sunset. Inspired by Omer Fast’s summer exhibition at the Salzburger Kunstverein, this year’s theme, Storytelling, amounts to evenings of artist films that traverse the fairytale, the magical, the undead and the real. The curators are Omer Fast (DE/IL), Köken Ergun (TU), Erika Hock (DE), Cameron Jamie (US) and Eli Cortiñas (ES). Introduced by the invited curator, screenings last about 90 minutes. Picnic tables and a bar are on-site. People can bring refreshments or acquire them from Café Cult. Eli Cortiñas and Cameron Jamie, two Summer Academy teachers, will be curating one evening each.
